Fraternity Intern

Fraternity Interns are hired for the months of May, June, July, and August to help the National Staff and Council accomplish summer tasks. These tasks could range from creating new marketing materials for the Fraternity and Educational Foundation or working with the Leadership Consultants to develop the expansion schedule. These selected men will serve as an example and will help promote positive change, assist Chapters or Colonies in operations, and help the staff educate Chapters and Colonies on the goals of Alpha Chi Rho.

Interested Brothers need to be a current undergraduate student and member of good standing in Alpha Chi Rho.

Leadership Consultant

Leadership consultants are the front line of the National Fraternity. Each semester, a leadership consultant may travel to each of the Chapters, Colonies, and Interest groups of the National Fraternity. A leadership consultant will also lead expansion efforts by working with colleges/universities and students interested in starting a Chapter of Alpha Chi Rho. The leadership consultant will also serve as the primary point of contact between the Chapter or Colony and the National Headquarters of Alpha Chi Rho. These selected men will serve as an example and will help promote positive change, assist the Chapter or Colony in day-to-day operations, and educate Chapters and Colonies on the goals of Alpha Chi Rho.

Interested Brothers need to be a graduating senior and member of good standing in Alpha Chi Rho. A resume, cover letter, and at least three professional references will be needed when applying.

General Overview:

The Fraternity of Alpha Chi Rho invites applications for the position of Leadership Consultant. The Leadership Consultant is a member of the National Staff.

The Fraternity of Alpha Chi Rho was founded in 1895 at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. Alpha Chi Rho is a national, men’s, collegiate fraternity whose purpose is to enhance the lifelong intellectual, moral, and social development of our members through the guidance of our Landmarks. The National Staff has been charged with visiting each Chapter on an annual basis to provide hands-on advice and consulting geared toward improving Chapter operations. As current campus climates have changed, the role of the staff has also changed. Now it is crucial for the National Staff to provide programming and services for the advancement of the entire Fraternity. These men, the National Staff, meet the needs of our Brothers through teamwork, professionalism, and loyalty.

The Leadership Consultant will work with the Director of Chapter Services and CEO to improve Chapter operations. This person will coordinate the relationship between the National Office and the Regional Chapters. He will work with other staff members to ensure Chapters are receiving programs and services needed.

The Leadership Consultant is directly responsible to the Director of Chapter Services and CEO. Successful candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree, be a Brother in good standing, and have experience within his Chapter, campus IFC, or related organization. In addition, each candidate should demonstrate excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. A willingness to travel is key to success. Finally, each candidate should possess a desire to make major improvements to the Fraternity on a
national level.

The Leadership Consultant position runs until the end of May and can be re-contracted upon the outcome of a review. The maximum term of this position is two years. Working for the National Fraternity will provide great networking opportunities that could help you land that perfect job in the future. In addition, the experience you receive working on the National Staff adds marketable skills to your resume. A valid driver’s license, car insurance and vehicle are required. Responsibilities:

  • Create new and revise existing Fraternal Resource material
  • Educate Membership on the benefits of the Educational Foundation
  • Assist in the planning and executing of National and Regional Fraternal Events
  • Assist Interest Groups, Colonies and Chapters of Alpha Chi Rho that need guidance in applicable areas
  • Follow up each visit with a well-documented report and include recommendations for improvement
  • Follow up on possible expansion locations for the National Fraternity-Assist with any new projects that become available
