National Fraternity recognizes Chapters at the 103rd National Convention

Congratulations to the following Chapters for their achievements during the past school year.

Phi Sigma Tau – Kutztown University of Pennsylvania – Robert B. Stewart Most Improved Chapter Without a House Award

The Phi Sigma Tau Chapter at Kutztown is a worthy recipient of the Robert B. Stewart Award, which is awarded to the Most Improved Chapter Without a House, because of their effective leadership, and their multiple community service events such as a hot dog eating contest with all proceeds going to a local animal shelter and a softball tournament with all money raised benefitting the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. In addition, the men participate actively in campus intramurals and in
their annual Greek Week.

Omicron Phi – Utica College – James “Spence” Spencer Award

The Omicron Phi Colony at Utica College is a proud recipient of the James “Spence” Spencer Award, which is presented to the Colony who excels in all aspects of the Fraternity and is most deserving of taking the next step toward receiving their Charter. They have shown a constant effort to improve Chapter funds, have an excellent reputation on campus, good communication
with the National Headquarters, and their annual Deep Freeze event – which this past year raised $5000.00 for the American Cancer Society.

Alpha Phi Alpha – Philadelphia University – Thomas F. Flanagan Memorial Award

The Alpha Phi Alpha Chapter at Philadelphia University is excited to receive the Thomas F. Flanagan Memorial Award which is presented to the Chapter demonstrating the True Image of the Fraternity. They were selected for this award due to their strong Brotherhood and leadership, excellent communication within the Chapter including being inclusive and diverse, and their numerous community service events such as their Haunted House which has all proceeds going to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Phi Mu Chi – Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania – Weston L. Dangler Award

The Phi Mu Chi Chapter at Lock Haven was ecstatic to receive the Weston L. Dangler Award which is presented to the Chapter that has the Best Communication with the National Office/Headquarters. This is due to their frequent phone calls and emails to Barbara Bianchi our Office Manager, as well as taking advantage of the resources provided by the National Office.

Alpha Phi Zeta – Seton Hall University – Community Service Award

The Alpha Phi Zeta at Seton Hall University is very deserving of the Community Service Award. They have demonstrated
outstanding service to the community including collecting socks for the homeless, partnering with Lambda Theta Phi to raise money for breast cancer awareness, a River Day in which the Brothers clean the South Orange section of the Rahway River, participating in the NGO, One World One Community’s efforts to bring change to Guatemala, and a few other events throughout the year. They are planning for the next year specifically a Polar Bear Plunge this upcoming winter.

Delta Phi – Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute – Stanley G. Bedford Award

The Delta Phi Chapter at RPI is well deserving of the Stanley G. Bedford Award for the Chapter with the Most Effective Executive Leadership . They exemplify strong leadership on campus and for community service including a successful Blood
Drive this past Fall which gathered 145 units of blood that will help 429 patients, being active participants in other student
organizations, an excellent Postulant education program, and outstanding ritual participation from all members
