PRESS RELEASE: 2019 Graduate and Undergraduate AXPEF Scholarship Winners

 

Landon Allen

Landon Allen (ΦMX) – DONALD F. JONES
GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP

 

Landon Allen currently attends the Doctor of Dental Medicine program at Midwestern University – Arizona. He is a Brother of the Phi Mu Chi Chapter of Lock Haven University and has held numerous Chapter and National leadership positions. Landon’s true passions in life are helping others through dentistry and educating men of word and deed. Landon plans to run his own dental practice and treat patients in under-served areas.

 

 

Benjamin Smith

Benjamin Smith (ΦZX) – WILBUR M. “CURLY” WALDEN
GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP

 

Benjamin is currently a law student at George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School. Through the help of his AXPEF scholarship last year, Benjamin was able to excel in his first year of law school. This summer he will be working for the Department of Health and Human Services in Washington D.C., and he will also be studying abroad with Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch in Italy. When he is not reading and briefing cases, Benjamin enjoys playing soccer, running, reading, and hanging out with his Phi Zeta Chi Brothers. This scholarship will help Benjamin focus on his studies, and achieve his goal of being a lawyer and using his law degree to help others. In the future, Benjamin hopes to obtain a federal clerkship and one day be a judge to ensure we live in a more just and fair society.

 

James Reichard

James Reichard (AΦH) – STANLEY G. BEDFORD
GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP

JT graduated Rutgers-Camden this spring Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Biology. He plans on pursuing a career in medicine and has committed to American University of Antigua Medical School. In his free time, JT enjoys being outdoors and volunteering in the community. He is an avid skier and loves to go to the beach. JT is currently working as a licensed NJ realtor at Two River Realty in Little Silver, NJ. Before matriculating into medical school, JT will continue working and traveling this summer.

 

 

Jaden Jackson

Jaden Jackson (ΘXΦ) – F. PRESCOTT HAMMOND
GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP

Jaden has spent the last two years as a Law Clerk at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, LLP—a globally prestigious law firm based in New York City. In August, he will begin his journey as a full time student in the Juris Doctor program at Seton Hall University’s School of Law. He is especially passionate about advocacy for domestic violence survivors, and hopes to establish a legal career that will serve as a foundation for his community. In his free time, Jaden enjoys hiking, traveling to new destinations, and spending time with his friends. The scholarship awarded to him by the Alpha Chi Rho Education Foundation will go a long way towards helping him navigate the transition from professional to student life and will significantly assist with obtaining school supplies.

 

Kenny Severino

Kenny Severino (ΦPX) – PAUL K. ADDAMS
UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP

Kenny Severino is currently a junior in the Honors College at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He’s majoring in both Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Kinesiology with dreams of going to medical school to become a Cardiologist. During the school year, Kenny works as a Residential Assistant and Supplemental Instructor, where he gets to help students adjust to campus life and understand course content. This summer, he’ll be working as an Emergency Medical Technician in the Springfield area with American Medical Response, responding to 911 calls. Kenny is a first generation student and comes from a low-income background. The scholarship will help him continue to pursue higher education and achieve his aspirations of becoming a doctor and helping others. The Brothers of the Phi Rho Chi Chapter have become a second family to Kenny and help him see there’s more to college than schoolwork and balance out his life.

 

Manush Kathrotia

Manush Kathrotia (AΦH) – JAMES McFADDEN
UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP

Manush is currently a junior at Rutgers University – Camden triple majoring in Business Management, Finance, and Marketing. Originally from Ahmedabad, India, he came to this country for the first time ever when he started college here. He works as a Manager at Starbucks on campus and also works as an Ambassador Leader for the Admissions Office for Rutgers Camden. When not working or studying, Manush likes spending time going to the gym, and going out with Brothers and friends. After graduation he plans to enter the workforce for a couple of years  and then go back to get his MBA, preferably from Harvard University. Manush is a big soccer fan, and an even bigger fan of Manchester United FC!

 

Stephen Peranteau

Stephen Peranteau (ΦΣΤ) – JOHN C. ENK
UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP

Stephen Peranteau is a rising senior at Kutztown University in the Pre Med track. He plans on attending Veterinary School upon graduation and specializing in small animal emergency and critical care or zoo medicine. When he is not in school he is employed as a Veterinary Technician in the small animal and critical care department at Quakertown Veterinary Clinic. He enjoys traveling and hiking, along with spending time at the shore. He has served as President, Risk Management Officer and is currently serving as Alumni Chair for the Phi Sigma Tau Chapter of Alpha Chi Rho at Kutztown University.

 

 

Anthony Zin

Anthony Zin (ΑΦΑ) – DONALD F. JONES
UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP

Anthony is currently a third year student at Jefferson University East Falls. He is studying to become an architect in their College of Architecture and the Built Environment. His ultimate goal within his field is to blur the lines between scale models and reality with up and coming VR technology. Anthony was initiated in the spring of 2018 class, held Community Service Chair this past year, and has the honor of being President this upcoming academic year. In his free time, Anthony enjoys playing golf. The scholarship awarded to Anthony by Alpha Chi Rho will allow him to reach his professional goals, and for that, he is grateful.

 

 

Sam Al Safarjalani

Sam Al Safarjalani (ΘXΦ) – RICHARD V. OLSON
UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP

Sam Al Safarjalani is currently moving into his Senior Year at Montclair State University as a Data Sciences Major, Biochemistry Informatics Track, with a minor in Business. When he is not in school, he enjoys shadowing and volunteering at dental offices, as his goal is to go to dental school and become an orthodontist one day. He is very heavily involved at his school serving on multiple E-Boards and being a resident assistant for the Global Ed community. In his free time he enjoys going on hikes and practicing his hobby of photography. This scholarship that was awarded to him by Alpha Chi Rho will help him cover his tuition expenses and Dental School application fees which takes him a step closer to achieving his goals of promoting positive health habits.

 

 

Ravi Bera

Ravi Bera(HXΦ) – COLIN ROCHESTER
MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Ravi joined Alpha Chi Rho in fall 2017 and is the current Ritual Officer and Postulant Educator for the Eta Chi Phi Chapter at NYIT. He is originally from Floral Park, NY. After graduation he plans on working as a Software Engineer. In his spare time he enjoys hiking with his family and friends.
